Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy involves the treatment and management of movement dysfunction
and enhancement of physical and functional abilities. Therapy includes
examination, evaluation, prognosis and intervention provided by a
physical therapist. Treatment is directed toward restoration, maintenance
and promotion of optimal physical function, fitness and wellness.
Downtown Physical Therapy offers a unique rehabilitative experience predicated
on outstanding service and commitment to our patients. Patients will work
together with their physical therapist in a quiet and comfortable environment
to develop a comprehensive treatment plan to address medical needs and
establish personal goals.
Acupuncture
The goal of acupuncture is to stimulate healing by improving circulation
of blood to the cells, tissues and organs. Acupuncture points often occur
where nerves and blood vessels meet. When the body is injured or compromised
by stress, blockages can occur, depleting cells, tissues and organs of
nutrents and oxygen carried by the blood.
Acupuncturists are trained to locate and open, through the use of needles,
pressure and other methods, blockages which may impair the body's healing
process. There are specific acupuncture points to improve blood and fluid
circulation, stimulate tissue repair, regulate breathing and blood pressure,
balance hormones and reduce pain.
Facility and Equipment
A spacious stretching area, next to the physical therapy offices, is
equipped with Plyo and Gymnastic balls and is ideal for floor level
exercise, gait training, and balance & proprioception drills.

Cybex & Keiser Equipment
The Downtown Athletic Club is equipped with a wide range of Cybex and
Keiser equipment constructed to target specific areas of the body.
Cybex equipment, designed for ease of use, is the perfect medium for
traditional strength training. Keiser equipment offers variable air
resistance which allows for greater options for precision adjustments
when reeducating and retraining specific areas of the body. Knowledgable
and helpful Therapy and Club staff can help you with your post-rehab
exercise regime.
