Youth Camps at the DAC: Where Fun Comes into Play!
Summer Youth Camp: June 17 – August 30
The Downtown Athletic Club is offering Eugene’s longest running youth camp, kids aged 6 to 12, for 11 weeks. Weekly camp sessions are held from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Our weekly themes will not only add an element of excitement to our camp, but also provide a structured and engaging environment for campers to learn and grow.
Our campers spend the day participating in the following activities:

Week 1 | June 17-June 21 | Fitness Frenzy
Focus on different aspects of fitness, including cardio, strength training, flexibility, and agility, with fun and challenging active play.
Week 2 | June 24-June 28 | Team Spirit
Emphasize teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship through team sports like basketball, soccer, volleyball, racquetball and relay races.
Week 3 | July 1-July 3* | Olympic Games
Create a mini-Olympics with various athletic events such as track and field, gymnastics, and swimming, promoting friendly competition and sportsmanship.

Week 4 | July 8-July 12 | Superhero Training
Incorporate superhero-themed workouts and activities to inspire campers to unleash their inner superhero through fitness challenges and obstacle courses.
Week 5 | July 15-July 19 | Sports Skills Camp
Provide specialized training in specific sports such as basketball, soccer, pickleball, and racquetball, focusing on skill development and technique.
Week 6 | July 22-July 26 | Healthy Habits
Campers learn about the importance of healthy eating, hydration, and sleep for overall fitness and well-being.
Week 7 | July 29-August 2 | Fitness Funhouse
A week focused on overall fitness and fun, with a variety of activities including circuit training, obstacle courses, relay races, and fitness games to keep campers active and entertained.
Week 8 | August 5-August 9 | Unity in Motion
Campers could participate in group fitness challenges, team-building activities, and cooperative games that require them to work together towards a common goal. This theme could emphasize the importance of teamwork, communication, and supporting one another, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community among the campers.
Week 9 | August 12-August 16 | Sports Spectacular
Campers participate in a variety of sports tournaments and competitions, with a focus on fair play and teamwork.
Week 10 | August 19-August 23 | Sports Science Lab
Explore the science behind sports and fitness through experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to learn about body mechanics, nutrition, and sports psychology.
Week 11 | August 26-August 30 | Athlete’s Challenge
Offer a series of physical challenges and obstacle courses to test campers’ endurance, strength, speed, and agility.
