Celebrating 30 Years with Nickie Green-Houg at the DAC

As we celebrate a remarkable milestone, we are filled with joy and gratitude to honor Nickie Green-Houg’s 30th anniversary with the Downtown Athletic Club (DAC). For the past three decades, Nickie has been the heart and soul of our community, especially child-care, bringing her infectious laughter, dedication, and unwavering commitment to everything she does.

Nickie’s journey with us started in 1994 when she began working at KidStop, thanks to a friend’s recommendation. She had no idea then that the DAC would become her second home. Over the years, she has grown with us, from her early days at KidStop to becoming the Director of Newberry Child Care in 2018. Nickie’s love for the kids, her passion for her work, and her vibrant personality have touched countless lives and made the DAC a better place for all of us.

When talking about Newberry, the DAC, KidStop and all of the kids she’s taken care of and helped over the years, her face lights up. We asked what her favorite part of the job is, and with no doubt in her mind, it’s the kids. Nickie said, “even on the hard days the kids will make you laugh. The innocence of the kids learning, playing, and growing is amazing”. Also, the random thoughts the kids will say can really make your day. If those walls could talk…

Join us as we celebrate Nickie’s incredible journey and learn more about the amazing woman who has been a cornerstone of our community. Here’s to many more years of laughter, learning, and growth with Nickie Green-Houg!
