Come and experience the fluidity of the GYROKINESIS® method. This group class is being held in Studio 1 on Sunday, 4/27 from 12pm – 2pm. This method is invigorating as it opens the body, creating space and a feeling of well-being.

We begin seated to give the spine full access to the fluid, beautiful movements of the work. The breathing portion produces a sense of balance between the parasympathetic and the sympathetic nervous system – it all starts with breath. Breath is life.

Class Rates:

  • Members: $35

At the Downtown Pilates Studio, we offer a comprehensive range of classes and training sessions designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance your body. Our classically based Pilates practice is suitable for all levels and aims to cultivate a strong core foundation, promoting both physical strength and mental calmness.

Class Offerings:

  • Private Training: Ideal for beginners or those with specific goals or health considerations, these 55-minute one-on-one sessions utilize various equipment to provide personalized instruction.

  • Semi-Private Training: Share a session with a friend or partner, or let us match you with someone of similar abilities. These sessions, accommodating 2-3 students, focus on developing technique and confidence using a variety of equipment.

  • Group Reformer Classes: Designed for 4-5 participants, these classes offer a dynamic movement experience, emphasizing the core principles of the Pilates method.

  • Group Mat Classes: Suitable for 6-8 participants, these classes incorporate equipment such as the magic circle, small balls, weights, and bands. The mat work focuses on fundamental Pilates movements to enhance strength and flexibility.

  • GYROTONIC® Sessions: This unique system combines elements from yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming, and tai chi. Utilizing specialized equipment, GYROTONIC® exercises involve spiraling movements that rejuvenate the neuromuscular system, leaving you refreshed and invigorated.

  • GYROKINESIS® Classes: Performed in small groups on stools and the floor, these sessions feature undulating, circular movements that free the body and promote overall balance.

Our well-appointed studio, located at 980 Willamette Street—directly across from the main club entrance—is equipped with state-of-the-art Pilates and GYROTONIC® equipment. Both Downtown Athletic Club members and guests are welcome to join our classes.
